FrontRange Solutions has received two customer reports about an issue in GoldMine Corporate Edition 7.5.0 that can cause activities to be removed from the tabs in their related contact records. Here is some detailed information about the issue.
Normally a contact record in GoldMine has an identifier called ACCOUNTNO in the CONTACT1 database table. If this ACCOUNTNO is empty for a given contact record (this is not a normal scenario, but we are investigating what scenarios might cause this to happen), deleting that record can cause activities in the database to become unlinked from their corresponding contact records.
We are developing a patch for this issue and currently anticipate it to be released next week. Customers will receive notification of the availability of this patch. Until the patch is available we recommend that customers using version 7.5.0 avoid deleting contacts, using merge/purge, or moving records between databases.
To remove a user’s ability to delete contact records, go to File > Configure > Users’ Settings > Properties > Access, and uncheck “Delete”.
To remove a user’s ability to merge/purge contact records, go to File > Configure > Users’ Settings > Properties > Menu, expand Tools > Merge/Purge Records in the tree, and click on each Merge feature to turn it red.
To remove a user’s ability to move contact records between databases, go to File > Configure > Users’ Settings > Properties > Menu, expand File > Synchronize in the tree, and click on each Merge feature to turn it red.
If you already have experienced the problem mentioned above, please contact FrontRange Solutions support services for assistance. We apologize for any disruption caused by this issue.
