If you want to be sure that no one else is logging into GoldMine as you, or ensure your GoldMine security, the one way to make sure of this is by setting a GoldMine password.
To set your GoldMine password in GoldMine Standard or Corporate go to Edit | Preferences, in GoldMine Premium Edition go to Tools | Options. Then click on Change Password.

Then, in the upper area enter your current password, or leave blank if you don’t have one… In the lower area enter your new password twice.

Then click OK to set the password and OK again to exit your preferences.
Now, the next time you login to GoldMine, you’ll be required to enter your password.

One thing to be aware of is the fact that the Goldmine password is NOT case sensitive.
It would really be nice if GM could use the Active Directory credentials so that users only had to remember one logon account.
